Dan O'Dell returns to Momentous Volleyball Club for the 2022-2023 club season as the Head Coach for the girls 17-1’s team.   Last year, Dan's 18-1's team finished in the top 20 nationally.  Two years ago, Dan's 17-1's team took 5th place in entire country in the 17U Open Division at Junior Nationals in Detroit, MI. This is the highest finish in our volleyball club's history! 17-Dan was a virtual coin flip away from earning a medal and possibly even winning the entire tournament. 17-Dan actually beat Mizuno Northern Lights 17-1, the eventual 1st place finishers, in pool play earlier in the tournament.
 

 

PLAYING EXPERIENCE:

 

Penn State University - starting setter from 2002-2006

• All-American his senior year and was All-Conference for all four seasons.

• Played in the National Championship game in 2006, named Final Four All-Tournament team.

• Academic All-Big Ten award for three years at Penn State while majoring in Industrial Engineering. 

USA Men’s National Team – winter 2009

GC Vilacondense (professional) - Portugal

• 2009-10: helped lead the team to their highest finish in club history.

 

COACHING EXPERIENCE:

 

UCLA

• 2010 (volunteer assistant)

• 2011 (full-time assistant) in charge of the team’s middle blockers and defense helping lead UCLA to the National Championship.

• 6th year as head coach of the Mater Dei Girls’ Volleyball Program
